EU transport policy: More climate protection in freight transport

By 2030, CO2 emissions in the EU are to be reduced by 55 percent compared to 1990 levels. This is how EU emissions trading aims to contribute to the decarbonization of freight transport.

The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine challenges us all in a dramatic way. Russia is attacking not only innocent people in Ukraine, but also our values. Therefore, we must do everything possible to ensure that Russian aggression does not succeed. This includes becoming completely independent of fossil fuels from Russia as quickly as possible. This applies first and foremost to gas. Here we must use all alternatives, including coal and nuclear energy in the short term. But it also applies to petroleum and the products made from it.

Due to the interconnectedness in the world market, unfortunately, consuming diesel still means indirectly sending money to Russia.
